Pupil and Sports Premium
Pupil Premium
At Pennine Way Primary School, we are committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive, achieve their full potential and enjoy a rich range of experiences throughout their time with us.
The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding provided by the government to help schools support pupils who may face barriers to learning. The funding is used to improve educational outcomes, raise attainment and provide wider opportunities for eligible children.
Pupil Premium funding is available for:
- Children who are currently entitled to Free School Meals.
- Children who have been entitled to Free School Meals at any point during the last six years.
- Children who are, or have previously been, looked after by a local authority.
- Children from service families.
At Pennine Way, we use this funding carefully to provide additional support, targeted interventions, enrichment opportunities, resources and experiences that help children succeed both academically and personally.
Details of our current Pupil Premium Strategy and the impact of previous spending can be found in the documents below.
PE and Sport Premium
The PE and Sport Premium is additional government funding provided to primary schools to improve the quality of physical education, physical activity and sport for all pupils.
The funding helps schools develop high-quality PE provision and create more opportunities for children to be active, develop new skills and enjoy participating in sport.
At Pennine Way, we believe that physical activity plays an important role in children's health, wellbeing, confidence and achievement. We use this funding to enhance our PE curriculum, increase participation in sport and physical activity, and provide a wide range of opportunities for all children to enjoy being active.
This may include:
- Improving the quality of PE teaching.
- Purchasing equipment and resources.
- Providing specialist coaching and staff training.
- Offering a wider range of sports and activities.
- Increasing opportunities for competition and participation.
- Promoting healthy lifestyles and physical wellbeing.
The PE and Sport Premium is ring-fenced funding, meaning it can only be used to improve PE, sport and physical activity provision within the school.
Information about our current funding allocation, how the funding is spent and the impact it has on pupils can be found in the reports below.
Pennine Way Primary School is committed to ensuring that all funding is used effectively to provide the very best opportunities for our pupils, helping them to flourish both in and beyond the classroom.
