Admission Arrangements

Pennine Way Primary School follows the admission arrangements determined by the Local Authority.

Published Admission Number (PAN)

The Published Admission Number (PAN) is the number of children the school can admit into Reception each year.

• For admissions in the 2026/27 academic year, the PAN is 90 places.
• For admissions in the 2027/28 academic year and beyond, the PAN will be 60 places.

If the number of applications received exceeds the number of places available, places will be allocated in accordance with the school's published oversubscription criteria.

How to Apply for a School Place

Applications for a Reception place at Pennine Way Primary School should be made through your home Local Authority during the annual admissions round.

1. List Pennine Way Primary School as one of your preferred schools.
2. Submit your application by the published closing date.
3. You will be notified of the outcome on National Offer Day.

We strongly encourage parents and carers to apply on time, as late applications may reduce the chances of securing a place at their preferred school.

Application for Reception

In-Year Admissions

If you wish to apply for a place at Pennine Way Primary School outside the normal Reception admissions round, this is known as an in-year admission.

Applications for in-year places should be made through the Local Authority. Places will be offered subject to availability in the relevant year group.
